I had a trainer who I've broken up with because he's clearly out of his mind. He used to spout bits of wisdom like "food is fuel not fun" or the gem "eat to live not live to eat". It got me thinking...we must have food to live yet it is so much more that that-it is fun-sharing a meal with those you love, laughing, talking, diving into your favorite dish, its atmosphere or a theme of a restaurant, the anticipation of your meal being brought to your table, or checking the oven... It goes more than a basic need for survival. Food is an experience. While I've struggled with food I think I've found a balance, finally. I'll have my cake and eat it too.
